If not, click Copy module followed by clicking the "Copy Mode" tab on the top left corner of the main interface to choose a copy mode, which is an error-free step. You have 6 modes to choose. How these 6 modes function will be described in the end. Here I take Main Movie mode as an example.
Note: (It’s not a necessary info to copy a DVD, just for your reference )
1. Why do I take Main Movie mode as an example?
Main Movie mode is ticked by a large majority of users for the question “What is your most frequently used copy mode?” in our 2019 Questionnaire. However, this won’t lower the status of the other copy modes.
2. Why doesn’t the copy mode include “To DVD” and “To Blu-ray”?
“To DVD” mode is specially designed to convert any Blu-ray to DVD for playback on home DVD player. This service is provided by our another product, DVDFab Blu-ray to DVD Converter.
“To Blu-ray” mode is intended to copy, merge and convert DVDs to a Blu-ray for playing with Blu-ray player. This service is covered by our another product, DVDFab DVD to Blu-ray Converter.
Step 3: Load the DVD
Insert a DVD disc into the optical drive and DVDFab will load it automatically, or you can click the “Add”/“+” button to load the source manually. If the source is an ISO file or DVD folder, you can directly drag it to the main interface to load it.
Step 4: Customize your DVD
After the source is loaded in, the longest title in the DVD, namely the main movie, will be selected by default. You are allowed to change other titles, chapters, audios, subtitles if there are more options available for you to choose. Please kindly be informed that you’d better not choose other titles or change chapters if you aren’t familiar enough to what contents these titles or chapters include exactly. Alternatively, click the Preview icon to have a viewing about chapters you have selected BEFORE clicking the Start button, enabling the parts you desire will be kept.
Besides, click the Wrench icon (Advanced Settings) to choose which disc you are to output, DVD 5 or DVD9.
Step 5: Select an output directory
You are offered three choices to save the output DVD: DVD disc, DVD folder, or ISO image file.
Navigate to the bottom of the main interface to select a directory: the output is to be saved on a blank disc if you select your optical drive as the directory from the drop-down list box; the output is to be saved as a DVD folder if you click the Folder icon to choose a folder as the directory; the output is to be saved as an ISO image file if you click the ISO icon and choose a folder to save the .iso file.
Note: To save the output to a blank disc, you will be prompted to insert a compatible media to your optical drive. Just insert a blank disc to continue the copy process.
Step 6: Start the copy process
Click the "Start" button to start the copy process. During the processing, you can do three things.
Firstly, you are able to see the preview of the output DVD by clicking the Preview button which will appear after you move the mouse cursor onto the processing bar.
Secondly, you can choose Continue Later, Pause/Continue, or Cancel.
Thirdly, you can also choose Do Nothing, Exit Program, Hibernate, Shut Down when all tasks are done.
